BREAKOUT 2010 - KOREAN EXTREME COMEDY

BREAKOUT is based on a story of prisoners breaking out of prison and finding shelter with some nuns and nurses in a convent. Featuring a cast of top quality performers including some of Korea's leading b-boys, BREAKOUT has been played to rave reviews internationally.

It was a funny & very entertaining show. Each prisoner has its very own unique character & I'm sure each one left a great impression in each audience's mind. Love their dance moves & amuzing acts.

CHICAGO THE MUSICAL
CHICAGO tells the tale of Roxie Hart -- a nightclub dancer who dreams of heading in Vaudeville -- who kills her lover and then convinces her husband to come up with the $5000 to hire Chicago’s shrewdest, smooth-talking lawyer, Billy Flynn.

Love this show. The whole show is very sexy, singing & dancing are awesome! Definitely love their voices. I didnt watch the movie so was pretty lost when I watched it initially. The singing, dancing & the music produced live by the maestro is just perfect. Oh & did I mention when the shiny pieces dropped down from the ceiling during the "Razzle Dazzle", oh... makes it "Razzle Dazzle".

I was going through my past entries and realised that I didn't blogged about CNY 2009.

Happy Chinese New Year! I've always enjoyed this season, not only because I get lots of ang paos but also a time for family gatherings. This year's CNY was even more special. My aunt & her family from Australia were here to celebrate CNY with us. As far as I can remember, it's the first time experiencing this. A reunion dinner & out to 拜年 with the full force.

This year is also my first time having our reunion dinner out of the house, at a restaurant. Had our reunion dinner at Prima Revolving Restaurant. Am glad that we chose the earlier session which was at 5.30pm because when we came out abt 8pm, the second group (starts at 8.30pm) had difficulties finding a parking lot & getting up to the restaurant. Us getting down the building is not a problem, at least it's climbing down 9 storeys. Imagine you, all well dressed, climbing up 9 storeys? I'll be pissed off.

Went back, did some packing, did my mum's, sis's & my nails (nt rich enuff to spend $$ on that yet), decorate the pussy willow, watched the ch 8 countdown variety show.

初一
As per normal routine, went to pray ah gong, 二舅 hse, before meeting the rest at ah ma hse for lunch. From there 5 cars went off to 1st Grand Uncle place. One of my fave place coz there's fa cai & vegetarian vegetables. Yum! Then to Lao Zhek place, 2nd Grand Aunt place, Small Grand Uncle place. Final stop will be back to my ah ma place for dinner.

初二
L came to our place to 拜年 early morn coz we need to set off to my 小舅 hse. Our first visit to 小舅 new hse. LOVE IT! Not only it's huge but the whole decoration was fabulous. I thought we were in a chalet, botanical garden. haha.. I should say is much better than chalet. I think pictures shall do the talkings.

From there, my family + L, 四姨, Eddie, Yongquan & Peiqing, 小舅family went to & 大舅母 & 二姨 hse 拜年. 小舅 together with us going to 拜年 (unusal comby). Xiaoqing family met us there. It was quite a rush hse visiting in the late morning coz all of us are to be at my 三姨 place for lunch at 1.30pm. Another weird comby, 三姨 & 三姨丈 decided to join all of us to 大姨 hse to 拜年. Went to Loyang Temple. It was crazy!!! So many people, so much smoke! Goodness. I wonder if those people do know how to hold their joss sticks properly. They can burn people anytime. By the time we were out of the temple, we were covered in ashes. Went back home for a shower & head out to KFC for dinner.

初三
Went to L's place to 拜年. Had my 2nd lao yusheng with his family.

After the long weekends, I didnt have the mood to go back to work. The holidays are too short!

Now that Feb is coming to an end, March is even worse, no public holidays. Sobz. Why can't they be like schools? While they have school holidays, we shall have work holidays. Alrite.. I shall have it in my dreams.

Congrats to Yongquan & Peiqing! It was their big day last sat. After all the preparations, we are all glad that everything went well.

Woke up at 5am, reached Peiqing's place at 6.40am. I thought I'll be the 1st jie mei to reach but Yifang beat me to it. Peiqing passed us our hairbands & hand corsages. Her make up artist came soon after & dad is on action, started videoing the activities we had in the morning. The 4 jie meis arrived & we started to plan our "tekaning of groom" process. Horns were heard at 7.30am. Everyone on standby, ready to welcome the groom.

I would say that we were easy on the groom & 兄弟s. For the 1st task, they were asked to do were to use their toes to take out the tiles to form 大四喜 from a pail filled with ice & water(freaking cold). 2nd task, we were so kind & nice enough to let them have something cold to eat/drink since they were all sweating. We gave them 4 different flavours of ice cream specially made by us. Ice cream 1 (Vinegar + Lemon). Ice cream 2 (Rose Syrup + Ribena). Ice cream 3 (Bittergourd Juice). Ice cream 4 (Wasabi & Chilli Padi). As expected, they only ate half & threw away the other half. We did't have much time to play & ask for more ang paos, so we let them in at 8am. They thought it was over but just before he can see his bride, Yongquan was asked to read out a love contract in german (he has no idea how to read in german). In order to let him understand what he had read (he needs to know cause he has to make sure he keeps his promise), we made him read the same contract but in english, loud & clear for everyone to hear. Yonquan finally gets to see Peiqing after he signed the love contract.

As per normal wedding, the couple pray ancestors, tea ceremony & off we go to the groom's place. We were on time & there were still time to spare when we reach there so the couple & jie meis were slacking, chit chatting, enjoying the air con in the room. The weather was a killer. So hot. Jie meis didnt have much things to do over there, so we just sat down, waiting for the tea ceremony to finish & moved on to the couple's new house. Took some shots over there. Next stop was back to bride's home to eat the dessert. Eddie gave the couple a surprise with cupcakes with their name on them. From there, the couple left for their outdoor photoshoot. Jie meis were dismissed.

The timing was very rush. We reached home about 1plus, bathe, make up artist arrived, John & Eddie came to bring the guzheng down to hotel first. Make up artist started on sis & mum first since they need to reach the hotel first to prepare for the guzheng performance. The make up artist spent quite some time on me & I was slightly late when I reach the hotel by 15mins. Everything was such a rush that I lost track of time. Was helping at the reception & all of us didnt know that the dinner was about to start till the couple were on standby.

The couple had the hotel to serve the guests mooncake & with combination of live guzheng performance by sis since it so happens that it was mid autumn festival. Something unique. The first few dishes were alright but when coming towards the end, it started to get quite bad. The dinner ended rather late at about 11pm. While Peiqing was thanking me & hugging me, emotions overwhelmed me & I almost cried. She's one of my closest cousin. So happy that she's happily married, embarking another new journey. We only left the hotel at 12.15am.

Congrats to my dearest 表姐夫 & 表姐!

I caught the F1 Singapore on Friday for the practice rounds. It was a fantastic experience. The roaring sounds from the racing cars were amazing.

I went straight after class & met Eddie at Raffles City. Weather was hot & humid. We roamed around the place to find if there's any interesting stuffs. Wanted to get ourselves the complimentary tattoos but the queue was very long & given the long walk to our seats, we gave up the tattoos & headed to our seats to catch the practice round 1. The walk from Raffles City to our seats was quite a distant. With the many overhead bridges, it definitely didnt make our lives easier. The sign boards werent that friendly either. Thanks to the ushers, we found our gate & our seats. Just in time for the 1st practice round at 6pm. Ear plugs on, cameras in action & here we go.

1st practice session ended at 7.30pm. We bought our dinner (chicken rice & grilled fish rice) at $8 each! The food tasted horrible. Maybe worth for a $1 meal. Oh well, we were hungry & no other choice seems to be around. Then came John & Xiao Qing jie jie. They managed to catch the last 30mins of the 1st practice round. We hang around the area before we head back to our seats for the 2nd practice session. Now the lights were all on. Nice. Called back home to let mum & sis listen the roars of the cars. Dad was in USA so he didnt manage to hear. Called L also. It was too noisy to hear them talking. I just dialled, hello & let them hear. It was kinda boring for us after awhile because everything was just repeating. The cars go round & round. Not much crashes or anything. ~yawns~ Started to snap random shots. Ended at 11pm & left the place. Had a nice cooling slurpee from 7-11 to end my night. =)

Pei Ching jie jie is getting married soon & I'm going to be one of her jie meis. 1st time. So exciting.

Had our 1st jie mei + bride-to-be meeting on 5th Sep. Discussed about the games to be carried out on the big day. Ideas came up pretty fast. Good.

Then came the Hen's Party on 19th Sep. We had a cooking session. We learnt how to cook a few dishes at the teacher's house. Divided 7 of us into 2 teams, cooking 3 dishes each. It was fun, a chance for us (or rather me) to interact with the rest cause I know none of them before hand. We spent almost 2 hours cooking. Long ah. After which, the teacher & her assistants served us our dinner from the appetizer to the dessert (all cooked by us). The session was fun, tiring & delicious. The food we cooked turned out quite nice. Yeah!

Pei Ching jie jie's Dowry was on the 20th Sep. Mum wanted to learn so my family went along. It was interesting but the things that need to prepare are troublesome. Videoed & took photos of the whole process.

I have so many things to blog, so many pictures to update. But I've just been procrastinating and soon I find myself too lazy to post long entries. In anycase, I shall stop the procrastination and start blogging now.

11th Sep
Had a mini birthday celebration with my family, san yi family & si yi. Dad was supposed to fly to USA for work on that day but he changed he schedule for me! woohoo! We had bbq at our place. Nice weather. Thanks for the presents. New pen, fake eyelash, vouchers & cash. Cool!

12th Sep
Met up with Fiona, Zheng Long, Frankie, Diana, Mike & Siang Wee for dinner at Aston @ The Picturehouse. 2nd birthday cake for me. Thanks for the present. Love them. More Vouchers.

13th Sep
Dinner with family, si yi & L at a Korean restaurant at Mosque Street. Just a simple dinner & I didnt want to have any more cake cutting.

My Presents
18th Sep
After my haircourse, Jas & I walk around before we meet Tobbie, Wenhao, L, Zhonglue for dinner at Ion Swensens to celebrate Tobbie's birthday. The combination was kinda weird but all went well. =) After my first encounter with Ion Swensens, 1 for 1 buffet ice cream, I became smart, & started my strategic method of eating the ice creams to make it worth. yum!

Speaking of Ion Swensens, I just hope that I've not grown any extra fats after my 3 consecutive weeks of Swensens 1 for 1 buffet ice cream. Yes. 3 consecutive weeks! Sinful.

Had dinner on Friday after work with colleagues again. "The Snow White and the 6 Dwarfs". Had Ban Mian, Mee Sua, etc at Roxy Square. It was super yummy. Lots of ingredients. We thought hey since Kelli's birthday is round the corner, why not help her celebrate in advance instead? We surprised her with a self decorated blueberry cheesecake and a lovely card filled with all our well wishes. As usual, our conversation always gets so interesting and hilarious when we come to our common topic of he who shall not be name. That conversation can just last us for 2hours plus. We had a wonderful dinner yet again. =)

I thought I would just like to upload some pics of us having dinner at Aston last friday. =)

Last Friday was Belle's last day of work. Isn't that fast? Less one person to chat, gossip, have lunch with, snacking with. Sad. Anyway, a few of us (Belle, Jankin, Constance, George, Gaius, Aris and I) took a bus and went to Joo Chiat for dinner. We didnt have our dinner till about 8pm where we settled down at Aston Specialties. Yep, we went hopping from one restaurant to another. Wanted to go to Stone Grill but it wasnt there. Went to Naive but realise it serves no meat and the guys were complaining. Went to Aston Prime but was closed and shifted to Centrepoint. Finally Aston Specialties. Crossed streets, walked up and down the streets till we were so hungry. It was a nice meal as we all had an enjoyable gossiping and chit chatting session.

Little Family

Saturday, went to meet up with my Little Family at Marina Square. Caught the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. As expected after reading and hearing all the reviews, the movie didnt have any climax. It was just about romance, a little humour here and there. Other than that, nothing. The 2.5 hours movie almost killed my legs. Half the time I didnt know where or how to place my legs. Either way it just felt uncomfortable. Had an early dinner at MOF. My first time there. Had Bimbimbap Hot Stone, dragon roll, sushi and dessert to share. Yummy. *slup slup* Left for shopping with the girls after dinner and we started going crazy, suggesting bling bling clothes for our dear SWEETing to wear. haha. We combed the shops in a short period of time and had nowhere else to head to. Ended up at Killiney for some drinks (or rather a 2nd round meal for 2) to chill. Fun fun fun. Enjoy.

I hate Tony. I hate listening to Tony. I really do. I really really do.
